Within the framework of deepening the financial reform process in the General Budget Department, in collaboration with the financial reform project / Phase II (FRPII) implemented by the (DAI) Company and funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) a specialized workshop entitled "Review of Strategic Objectives and Performance Indicators of the Budget " was held during the period between 04/22 to 04/24/2010 in the Dead Sea.

   The workshop focused on the importance of reviewing performance indicators of strategic objectives and programs for all the ministries and government departments. Also, the participants discussed and adopted the steps and procedures to be followed to review the performance measurement indicators.

   At the closing session HE Dr. Ismail Zaghloul, director of the Department of the General Budget, stressed on the need to comply with the conclusion of the workshop and to work on the implementation of the steps which were adopted on the defined schedule for reviewing strategic objectives and performance measurement indicators of ministries and government departments.

   On the future prospective, HE the Director General of the General Budget Department indicated that the Budget Department seeks to achieve many things; the most significant are to issue  the Budget Manual, Budget Summary and Citizen Manual in order to make the budget more transparent and understandable by all.
